ECHO A. van Riel E Moko, Kei konei tonu au, katahi ka inoi mai koe, kei to ahau ahau ake ake. (English Translation) My baby, I’m still here. All you have to do is ask and I’ll be at your side forever A wishing star shining bright As I call out my wish tonight Can you hear me as you burn I know you can because you made my voice return And all the other stars up in the sky are twinkling too I know it means they understand my wish is coming true Listen to my echo, echo, echo You can hear my echo, echo, echo And it’s clear to see My wish is coming back at me Yeah you can hear my echo, echo, echo Listen to my echo, echo, echo It’s coming back to me My wish is coming back at me SPACE HERE I call to the mountains, I call to the sky I call to the stars and I wonder why Why I can hear someone just like me Someone who sounds like me, they’re calling back at me And all the other stars up in the sky are twinkling too I know it means they understand my wish is coming true Maranga maranga Maranga Mai te whetu o te ata Maranga mai te whetu o te tau Kia makinakina ki uta, kia mataratara ki tai Tera te atakura, tera te kahukura roa i hikitia ai te ao i te po ki te ao marama Tihei Mauriora (English Translation) Stars of Matariki Rise. Rise. Rise up oh star of the morning, rise up oh star of the year. That the land be crisp from the mountains to the sea. There stands the crimson dawn There glows the red aura of vitality that draws forth the day from the night into the world of light. Behold there is light.

One Little Dollar A. van Riel See a penny pick it up All day long you’ll have good luck Find a dollar hold it tight Find another and you might just save Hold onto your dollar and you’ll save Search your pocket for some cash Get excited, do the math Open up a bank account Soon you’ll have a big amount, let’s save Put it in your bank account and save One little dollar won’t get you much Two little dollar won’t buy you very much Three little dollar won’t get you a lot But lots of little dollars, if you save Could buy a big adventure if you save Piggy bank up on the shelf Put a dollar in his mouth When his belly good and full You could buy a rocket to the moon Just think of the wonderful things that you could do One little dollar won’t get you much Two little dollar won’t buy you very much Three little dollar won’t get you a lot But lots of little dollars, if you save (Oooh you can do it) Could buy a big adventure if you save (Just hold onto it) So hold onto your dollars and you’ll save

Spooky Groove A. van Riel & L. Cochrane One night while I was walking down the hallway of my house I heard a freaky creaking, I stood as quiet as a mouse That freaky creak was super loud, it made me super scared But when I froze that creaking disappeared. It was a freaky creak I heard that night It gave me a terrible fright The freaky creak was certainly gone But then a thumpedy bump, it started banging on The thumpedy bump, it didn’t help my fears It was in my chest and in my ears It was a freaky creak, a thumpedy bump Them spooky noises made me shiver and jump Oooo spooky noises I heard that night They gave me a terrible fright The thumpedy bump, it followed me And here’s the part you won't believe A knickedy knocking joined the show It seemed to come from down below A freaky creak, a thumpedy bump A knickedy knock that made me shiver and jump Oooo spooky noises I heard that night They gave me a terrible fright The knickedy knocking has just begun When a chittery chatter it got my tongue It was the kind of chitter-chatter-chomp that rattled my brain Will I make it back to bed again? A freaky creak, a thumpedy bump A knickedy knock and a chittery chomp Oooo spooky noises I heard that night They gave me a terrible fright When I finally got the courage to move That’s when I clicked , it was a spooky groove That freaky-creaky-thumpdy-bumpdy-knickedy-chomp A spooky groove to make you wriggle and jump A freaky creak, a thumpedy bump A knickedy knock that made me shiver and jump Oooo spooky noises hey, you’re alright! I found my spooky groove that night.

Fishing for stars A. van Riel I’m fishing for stars, fishing in the night Sitting on the moon and all the stars shine bright Fishing for wishes and wishing for a friend Someone who can make me feel happy again Is it you-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo—o Tell me is it you Is it you-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo—o Tell me is it you Too many times my head was in the clouds I felt heavy in my heart and all the rain poured down I’m not joking, I got soaking, went looking for a friend Someone who could make me feel all warm and dry again Is it you-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo—o Tell me is it you Is it you-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo—o Tell me is it you But stars always shone above me And there are so many wishes up there that you can’t always see So I picked up a ladder, hooked it on the moon If I keep climbing this way I’m gonna get there soon Sooner or later, I know it sounds bizarre But I’ll be sitting on the moon and fishing for a star And I’ll find you-o-o-o-o-oo-o I’m gonna find you my friend I’ll find you-o-o-o-o-oo-o I’m gonna find you my friend

The Tale of Henny Penny A. van Riel Oh that Chicken, oh that chicken’s got lust She always seems to find a way To make a chicken bust She is not your usual chicken Ain’t no guinea or fowl And somehow she keeps getting out But good Lord I don’t know how Well hey Henny Penny gonna lock you up tight You ain’t gonna run tonight Gonna keep you safe when a big fox come Henny Penny don’t you run I feed ya good corn I feed ya good grain Your roost is warm and safe from the rain A place for you when day turns to night So Henny Penny don’t take flight. Oh that Chicken, oh that chicken’s got lust She always seems to find a way To make a chicken bust She is not your usual chicken Ain’t no guinea or fowl And somehow she keeps getting out But good Lord I don’t know how This farming life comes new to me I’ve been so long in the big city But I longed for the rivers and longed for the planes Piece of dirt I could maintain Now I harvest corn with sheaths like silk From this cow I get my milk And eggs for breakfast if I could But this little chicken won’t stay put Oh that Chicken, oh that chicken’s got lust She always seems to find a way To make a chicken bust She is not your usual chicken Ain’t no guinea or fowl And somehow she keeps getting out But good Lord I don’t know how And sometimes on the porch at night when I close the shutters I look out and I swear I see that chicken with bolt cutters I shake my head and say dear Lord, I think I’ve gone insane But the next day when I look for her that chicken’s gone again. Oh that Chicken, oh that chicken’s got lust She always seems to find a way To make a chicken bust She is not your usual chicken Ain’t no guinea or fowl And somehow she keeps getting out But good Lord I don’t know how And Oh that chicken, Oh that chicken’s got PLUCK She always seems to find a way, to make a chicken bust She is not your usual chicken She’s got a spirit that’s free And if I stop and think about it That chicken is a lot like me

Only One Planet A. van Riel What would you do if you had no planet to lean on? What would you do if you had no planet to dream on? And you’re floating lonely out in space You’re looking but you can’t find a place to land and call your home What would you do if you knew your mother earth was crying What would you do if you knew all the oceans and animals were dying And the clean water all ran dry Only acid rain came falling from the sky You can’t sit around and wonder why No, you gotta do something Here’s what you can do to reduce the footprint that you’re making Use less of all things new, find your groove in giving and not taking You’ve got to reduce and reuse Make your old things new again and you can’t lose Think of where it’s ending up before you choose to buy, let’s simplify. What would you do if you had no planet left to dream on?

Fairlight Station A. van Riel Climb aboard, this train’s departing soon Destination bright side of the moon Say goodbye to worries of the day Close your eyes and let them drift away We’re off to Fairlight Station Fairlight Station We’re off to Fairlight Station Ooooh, so baby close your eyes There’s a light that dapples through the trees Across the fields and spinning autumn leaves Hear the wheels go whizzing down the track In the morning we’ll be heading back For now it’s Fairlight Station Fairlight Station We’re off to Fairlight Station Ooooh, so baby close your eyes We all know dreams are free My baby child you are a dream to me With weary head, lay down and close your eyes And I’ll count the moments till we both arrive A tiny platform stands alone And a staircase of stars to guide you home Back home to dreamland and fields of gold May you never grow weary, never grow old. Fairlight station Fairlight Station We’re off to Fairlight Station Ooooh, so baby close your eyes

Give Love at Christmas Kath Bee & Anna van Riel It ain’t about the money It ain’t about the stuff If you’re wishin’ for more you’ll never quite have enough And who’s got the best, and who got the most Well it ain’t about that You know an attitude of gratitude is definitely where it’s at. Words of kindness from your lips Fire love from your fingertips Blast it out all around the world Give love, give love, give out at Christmas Give love, give it out and give it all you got! Give love, give love, give it out at Christmas Love’s the only thing that matters and there’s always enough It’s not about the presents It’s more about the gift And a gift only needs to be something that gives someone a lift Like a simple hug Or a telephone call It’s about being together as family, one and all
