Love is just a word

about

Definitely a track that morphed from outer (head) space on behalf of someone else in this situation. When I wrote it I could see a whole scene play out like I was looking into someone else's life and not my own. I just went with it and took it to the studio. The native NZ bellbird felt like a pure and beautiful contrast to the melancholy so we used it. I would like to add flute to this one day.

lyrics

Love is just a word

VS1
Don't tell me love is just a word
While you sit there with your open heart bleeding
Don't tell me love is just another girl
When clearly you're in agony and love is what you're needing

CH
And it's not too late to mend your ragged dreams
No, it's not too late to send this ship to sea
If you were mine I'd act more casually
But baby you make me nervous,
Yeah, baby you make me nervous
Oh, baby I get so nervous I could cry
I could cry

VS2
So don't tell me love is just a word
WHile you sit there bleeding out upon my floor
No don't tell me love is just another girl
And then show up every night upon my door
CH

So don't tell me love is just a word to you
And then sit there bleeding out upon my floor.
