One Little Dollar

by Anna van Riel

When Kiwi kids musician Claudia Gunn asked who would like to create a song for children about money for the Chamber of Commerce I quickly put up my hand.

I can't remember ever learning one sensible (or fun) lesson in school about money.
I believe money is just energy and should be fun and empowering. Money should be our friend!

Here's hoping this song can be one of many that gets your toes tapping along to the sound of pennies dropping in your piggy bank. Right on!

One Little Dollar

See a penny pick it up
All day long you’ll have good luck
Find a dollar hold it tight
Find another and you might just save
Hold onto your dollar and you’ll save

Search you pocket for some cash
Get excited, don’t be brash
Open up a bank account
Soon you’ll have a big amount, let’s save
Put it in your bank account and save

One little dollar wont get you much
Two little dollar wont buy you very much
Three little dollar wont get you a lot
But lots of little dollars, if you save
Will buy a big adventure if you save.

Piggy bank up on the shelve
Put a dollar in his mouth
When his belly good and full
You could buy a rocket to the moon
Just think of the wonderful things that you can do
